JOIN A CHOIR NOW

The last couple of years have undoubtedly been hard for us individuals, families and businesses.  Sing in the City moved everything online during lockdown, provided additional classes and activities (book club, guitar lessons, art lessons, dance classes etc) and eventually managed to get back to live rehearsals in August 2021.  This is the time of year where we all want to start new things and have new resolutions.  Make friends, get back to socialising, sing, make music, improve mental health.  We can help you with all that in 2022.

To keep everyone safe and to avoid being closed down with COVID, we are going to return to zoom rehearsals for the month of January and hopefully return to room rehearsals around February. We will still have rehearsals at night and during the day.  We provide assisted choir places for members who are on lower income (please ask).  Our aim to make singing and music as accessible for everyone as possible.  At Sing in the City we consider ourselves to be more than a choir.  If you are looking for a friendly, fun, inclusive choir with a family feel, then come and take a FREE trial.  Join the choir that during a pandemic, had a No. 3 hit single, raised over £14,000 (raised over £144,000 in total) for charities and donated 59 Alexa speakers to Scottish Carehomes  and started our own radio station Chief Radio

Join us now to take part in the Usher Hall show on June the 19th 2022 with the Hanley and the Baird band.

We are chasing dreams, making memories and have music, social, community and friendship at the heart of everything that we do.  We are very proud to have created an environment where age and ability are irrelevant but don’t take our word for it, come and speak to our team, our members and see for yourself.  You can join a choir in many locations, have a look at our choir pages.

We have a concession price for members who are over 65. Our attention to music, social, community and charity is second to none.

Choirs

Let's get back to singing

We kept singing right through lockdown, we sang online and kept everyone together and engaged with lots of new classes from drawing to painting, from guitar lessons to our book club.

We managed to get 9 choirs back to room rehearsals late 2021 and hope to do that from February 2022 but for January we will return to zoom rehearsals to keep members safe and choirs running.

Join now and don't be put off with online rehearsing, it's been a godsend.  You will have the 2 Directors and manager singing harmonies while you take part and learn.  Zoom does work when we returned to rehearsals in Aug 2021 members did know their parts.

What is our ethos?

Prior to COVID19 we used to have 18 choirs and over 1000 members.  Once we have spoken to all our venues we will know which choir can open up again and when.

There is no audition process unless you are interested in the Sing in the City Aw Blacks.

” We aim to provide a safe, warm, welcoming and inclusive rehearsal space  for members to sing at a level they choose”

outdoor rehearsal 3We appreciate that different members join a choir for various reasons, health reasons, to make friends, to have a hobby, to sing, to perform.  It dosn't matter why you join because we pride ourselves on providing something for everyone.  We put a lot of focus on community, social and charity and you have nothing to lose by taking a FREE trial night or morning with us.  We truly aim to be much 'more than a choir'
