Our online choirs have been amazing and zoom has helped us to keep people connected and singing from the safety of their own homes but there is nothing like singing with our friends.

So at long last we waited till the end of June 2021 and arranged 6 outdoor sessions in Edinburgh, Lothians and Fife with 50 members singing at each and got everyone out singing in one weekend.

We have been incredibly lucky and are really thankful to our members who continued to pay their membership and work with us online and also our staffing team have been brilliant and worked so hard to pull everything together.

We all adhered to 2 metre social distancing and kept the choir size to a manageable number and did not attempt to draw a crowd as Sing in the City normally do. Our outside venues were Dunfermline Glen, Edinburgh Inverleith park and the very glamorous carpark in Livingstone.

It was lovely to see people in the flesh as opposed to on a pc. It was also very lovely to hear many voices and actually realise that zoom had worked. The songs the Directors Kirsty Baird and Annette Hanley had rolled out had been learned.
