Sing in the City 2020 Award party

It is always the best party in town at the Jam House. The time of year we all come together to celebrate what we do and who we are and we gave away 23 awards to members either voted for by their coaches, other members or the MD’s. This year the Michaela Waddell trophy was awarded to Aaron Wallaker and Vaves Ronald.

The dance floor was never empty. Our members arrive, take their coats off, go to the bar and then to the dance floor. It’s the only party that has dancing from the minute the party starts till the bar closes 6 hours later.

Members raised £188 on the night from left over bar rounds and donations and our Sing in the City Community Dreampot took that total to £700 and we split that amount and sent half to Alzheimer Scotland and the other half went to the Brain Tumour Charity in memory of Michaela. This takes our grand charity total to over £118,000.

The Hanley and the Baird band did a set of covers and originals and had an audience of 350 backing singers singing along. (Next gig for them is 20th March at the Voodoo rooms).

It’s never to late to join Sing in the City and be a part of our family. You will have missed the 2020 Award party but there will be loads more events this year as we celebrate our 10th Birthday not to mention our weekend at the Usher Hall where the majority of our choirs will be performing on the 11th and 12th September. Tickets go on sale in March for that show.
